SIMULTANEOUS DETERMINATION OF GOLD, PLATINUM AND PALLADIUM AS BROMIDE COMPLEXES USING DERIVATIVE SPECTROPHOTOMETRY

Derivative spectrophotometry was used for simultaneous determination of Au(III), Pt(IV) and Pd(II) as bromide complexes in a perchloric acid medium. Optimum conditions were developed for the formation of the bromide complexes (0.3 % NaBr, 0.01 mol l(-1) HClO4) and calculation of the derivatives of the chosen order. The derivatives were calculated numerically using the Savitzky-Golay method. The proposed method has been applied for simultaneous determination of Au, Pt, and Pd in synthetic mixtures and in multi-element standard solution 26H SM-40.
