Between democracy and authoritarianism: Keys to the understanding of a political phenomenon

The question for democracy is maybe one of the most persistent in the analysis prescribed in political science. However, perhaps its definitions are still not finished, even more when the contempory forms of government that called itselves democratic show in its background governments such as authoritarianism. As a consequence, the purpose of this article is do an approach to the conceptual paradox that encloses the category of democratic authoritarianism, in an analysis plane very generalized that will function a posteriori to comprehend some kind of recent political phenomena, in a way that goes from the inner notion of democracy in critical sense, and flows through ideas of populism and neopopulism as an axis to define its content.
