摘要
Considering the problematic related to school performance, current studies have indicated protective factors and risk factors associates to this reality. Aspects like the ones in the mediation of satisfactory school performance process are: familiar participation in the school education of its children, supervision of the studies by the parents, social support, among others. The objective of the present study was to identify the forms of interaction of the family with the school, social support, family environment resources and life quality of children from different economic levels that present satisfactory school performance. 15 families represented for the parents and its children had participated of the study, who present satisfactory school performance and attend to a basic education school Two groups have been formed: the first group was composed by disfavored economic level children who attend to public schools, and the second one was composed by favored economic level children who attend to private schools. Five measurement instruments have been used for data collection: Brazil Index, Inventory of Familiar Environment Resources, Social Support Questionnaire, Evaluation of Children Quality of Life and an interview which objective was to investigate the parents' participation in the children's school environment and their conception about school. The main results indicate that it did not have difference between the groups concerning family's social support level, children's quality of life, parents' supervision on the children's school tasks, and opportunities of parents and children interaction. It is discussed that both the parents involvement with children's school tasks and the family social support do contribute to the children's satisfactory school performance.
