POTENTIODYNAMIC STUDY OF ANODIC-DISSOLUTION OF ALUMINUM IN ALKALI SOLUTIONS IN THE PRESENCE OF SODIUM MOLYBDATE

摘要
The anodic behavior of aluminum in alkali-molybdate solutions has been studied by potentio-dynamic method. It has been suggested that molybdate ions can be reduced at null-current potential, followed by oxidation of resulting compounds by aluminum anodic polarization. The orders of the anodic reaction with respect to hydroxyl and molybdate ions have been determined. Aluminum dissolution in passive region has been found to occur via the formation of aluminum hydroxides and mixed hydroxides containing molybdenum.
