摘要
The authors studied phase composition, microstructure, and properties of steel containing 0. 05%C, 4. 09%Mn, 0. 35%Si, 0. 11%V, 0. 021%S, 0. 019%P to improve tensile and subzero impact strength by developing a new high strength steel of the bainitic type alloyed with manganese to suppress pearlitic transformation. A structure of tempered bainite and vanadium carbide precipitates provides high strength and brittle fracture resistance and layers of lamellar austenite act as barriers to brittle crack propagation.
