摘要
A method has been developed for producing an optical standing wave with a period much larger than the wavelength of the light used. The spatial period of this wave is easily adjustable from 80 mum to more than 300 mum. This method has been used to create an optical field gradient suitable for use in a study of the dipole force on atoms, as well as a cylindrical lens for focusing an atomic beam.
