HIGH-FIELD MAGNETS AT SENDAI

The High Field Laboratory for Superconducting Materials, Institute for Materials Research, Tohoku University, is equipped with a number of superconducting magnets, high-power resistive magnets and hybrid magnets producing a continuous field up to 31 T. Capacitor banks for a pulsed field up to 55 T are also installed in the institute. These facilities have been used for the measurement of high field properties of various materials. This paper describes recent achievements in both magnet technology and materials science. © 1990.
