摘要
In this study, cutting forces and surface roughness have been investigated at finish turning operations of GGG 40 ductile iron at high cutting speed. Experiments were performed on GGG 40 ductile iron specimens without heat treatment by using ceramic and CBN cutting tools. The cutting tools were used at 3 different cutting speed (600-700-800 m/min) and 4 different feed rate (0.05-0.08-0.12-0.16 mm/rev) values. According to the experimental results; the best value of surface roughness have been obtained as 0.4 mu m with ceramic tool at cutting condition of 600 m/min cutting speed and 0,05 mm/rev feed rate. With respect to the results of surface roughness obtained from finishing of ductile iron without heat treatment, it was seen that secondary operation such as a grinding was not required.
