摘要：

Dying patients are frequently hospitalized toward the end of their lives, and cared for by hospitalist physicians. Identifying patients who are actively dying and providing appropriate end-of-life care can be challenging in the acute care setting. This article reviews communication and symptom management issues and suggests ways to address them in order to improve end-of-life care.
