Ethics, Ecology and Economy. Caritas in Veritate: the Global Encyclica of Benedict XVI

In these lines it is firstly analyzed how was the first reception of this social encyclical of the german pope. After an expectant welcome, is needed a later reflection and a deeper reading of it. The author insists overall in the philosophical and theological foundations of the developement of this social doctrine: how truth and love are fundamental principles -two pillars-, over which must be held the social action of all christians. It is also proposed a decalogue in wich is summarized the message of the encyclical, where are underlined the principles of the human person, the solidarity, the global developement, the defense of the natural environment and the human life, the demographic question and the tutelage of the familiar institution and, finally, the complementarity between ethics, technics and economy. This paper ends with a prospection to the future of this teaching text.
