Intraorbital Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma: A Case Report

A seventy-eight-year-old male patient was referred to our clinic with ptosis of the left upper eyelid. At ophthalmologic examination, intraorbital soft tissue mass was found. On orbital MRI, soft-tissue mass with indistinguishable borders from the upper rectus muscle and lacrimal gland in the upper temporal region of the orbit was confirmed; surgical exploration and biopsy were done. Biopsy revealed non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and the patient was referred for radiotherapy. Age-dependent (involutional) ptosis is seen quite often in old patients, however, the other reasons also should be kept in mind. A full and careful ophthalmologic examination may change the suspected etiology and a different treatment modality may be indicated.
