CHROMATOGRAPHIC CLEANUP METHODS FOR THE DETERMINATION OF PERSISTENT ORGANIC-COMPOUNDS IN AQUEOUS ENVIRONMENTAL-SAMPLES

A review is presented of clean-up methods for the determination of persistent organic compounds. Basic techniques and principles are discussed and recent developments indicated. It is concluded that, although classical methods still predominate, several new techniques which combine extraction and cleanup are promising, particularly for aqueous matrices. These will allow faster, cheaper, and more easily automated methods of determination.
