摘要
The paper analyzes the relationship amongurbanization of flood-prone areas, mitigation construction techniques and production of disaster risks space. The analysis is donethrough a case study: recent changes in the urbanization of the municipality Tigre wetlands, featuring the expansion of gated communities in a deep context of uneven development. The large fillings were the mitigation construction techniques implemented in order to incorporateof those flood prone areas, producing an unprecedented transformation in that "waterlandscape". In this case, the reproductive needs of real estate-finance capital (ensured by the actions of the State), have produced no only new forms of urban space and urbanization of flood-prone areas, but also an unequal disaster risks space, whose consequences have been rarely considered.
