摘要
The purpose of this project was to demonstrate the operative reliability of a novel regenerative burner system utilising low-calorific-value fuel gas and capable of high-temperature performance at high efficiency. The system is based on the extension of the application of the self-regenerative principle to both fuel gas and air supplies. Two burners operate in tandem, of which one fires while the other regenerates both the fuel gas and combustion air preheat beds. Blast-furnace gas with a calorific value of 2.9 MJ m-3 was the fuel source. 1500 hours of operative trials were carried out. For the duration of the trials all the planned investigations were completed satisfactorily, and the results successfully indicate the ability of the system to achieve high-temperature performance at high thermal efficiency.
