GINGIVAL HYPERPLASIA IN WEGENERS GRANULOMATOSIS

A rare case of limited Wegener's granulomatosis (WG) is reported, in which the initial symptom was the recent onset of gingival enlargement. Appropriate immunosuppressive treatment led, in 4 weeks, to a marked improvement in the patients clinical condition and laboratory parameters. Necrotizing, granulomatous lesions appearing in the upper respiratory tory tract 4 years after stopping immunosuppressive therapy were effectively treated with sulfones, and short term, low cyclophosphamide doses. At present, 10 months after discontinuation of the immunosuppression, our patient is free from any symptoms of limited WG.
