TRAUMATIC HERNIATION OF THE URINARY-BLADDER IN A CAT

A case of traumatic bladder eventration in a cat is presented. The eventration was through the pelvic diphragma dorsal of the left os ilium. The intrapelvic part of the bladder was connected to fibrotic tissue, which developed after the pelvic fractures and caused coprostasis. Diagnosis was based on punction and retrograde filling of the bladder with a contrast medium. Surgical intervention included dorsal incision and preparation of the bladder, thereafter a laparatomy was performed and the bladder fixed in the abdominal cavity, resulting in healing.
