摘要
In this paper, the study of five tombs found in Navarre and dated in the Early Middle Age is presented. One of the tombs is found in the Visigothic Necropolis of Gomacin (Puente la Reina) (7(th) cent. AD), two in the maqbara of La Plaza del Castillo (Pamplona) (8(th) cent. AD) and the two remaining in the maqbara of La Calle de Herrerias (Tudela) (9(th) -11(th) cents. AD). The skeletons correspond to adult women dead while pregnant. The fetal age corresponds in four cases to fetuses at term, while the fifth one is identified as an immature fetus of 22-23 weeks of gestation. Besides being pregnant, the women show diverse pathological alterations, although none would justify their deaths.
