The authors, residents of Daman, discuss various land reform legislations passed in the District of Daman and Diu, in particular 'The Daman (Abolition of Proprietorship of Villages) Regulation'. To the authors it smells of an exercise in deliberate misadventure. Land Reform measures did not lead to the expected outcome. On the contrary, the agricultural land in Daman seems to have evaporated. One part of Daman is a victim of unplanned urbanisation and the other suffers from neglect. The authors suggest some measures to change the situation.
