摘要
Theoretical analyses of closing pressure on the process zone give an "actual" fracture toughness value under confining pressure or in-situ measurements. This value is compatible with the fracture toughness measured under laboratory bench conditions, evidencing the authors' assumption that the increase of "apparent" fracture toughness is due to the confining pressure acting on the reduced process zone. © 1993.
