MANAGEMENT OF THE SOCIAL BENEFICIAL WORK OF THE SAVING BANKS

The foundational nature of the saving banks draws our attention to some special commitments at the time of sharing the benefits, because one part of the excess reverts to the community where the bank is situated through the provision of social work funds. This paper analyses the development of the resources assigned to the social work and the distribution to its different activities. The results reveal an increase in the provision of funds and the relative importance of the cultural and free-time area. The person in charge of the management of the social work sometimes presents some difficulties. Presently, this activity is mostly developed by a social work department together with the foundations associated to the saving banks.
