摘要：

This article aims to contribute to the debate about de challenges and advantages of applying the strategic alignment in the organizations. Theoretical and empirical references show that the strategic alignment is in the seminal stage in the organizations, especially when the possible positive results of this alignment are considered. With the objective of observing this relation empirically, a case study was developed in a chemistry industry. This enterprise has a strategic plan formalized and a model of competence implemented. The results show that the researched organization has a well-developed managerial structure, but not aligned when considered the relation between strategy and competences. Strategy,
