摘要
An experimental study has been carried out to measure mass transfer coefficients for the dissolution of stationary horizontal cylinders of benzoic acid in a laminar water stream. The following correlation has been obtained: J = 1.71 Re-0.672 for Reynolds numbers (Re) ranging from 2.7 to 281, and Schmidt numbers (Sc) from 826 to 2189. A comparison between the obtained results and those reported in the literature has been made, and possible engineering applications of the data are indicated.
