摘要
The first objective of this research is to establish the differences in self-concept of university students associated with sex, age and level of study and the second one it is to check associations between different dimensions of self-concept and academic performance. The instrument used is the Multidimensional Self Concept Questionnaire (AUDIM 33). 373 students participate from the Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Ecuador Sede Santo Domingo, between 17 and 33 years, divided into three age groups, of which 259 are women and 114 men. The results show significant differences in physical ability, verbal self-concept, honesty, emotional adjustment and autonomy for women, and the attractive - force, for men; about the different dimensions of self-concept, it is shown significant differences in the three age groups in general self-concept, mathematical self-concept and autonomy, and significant differences were obtained in the attractive - force between age 1 and age 3. There is no significant difference between the dimensions of self-concept and levels of careers, neither between dimensions of self-concept and academic performance.
