摘要
The expansion of conventional or modern agriculture with the challenge of meeting the growing demand for food and other products generated a series of conflicts that brokered the unsustainability in agricultural practices. Thus led to various environmental impacts advent of large aperture area, and contamination by monoculture ecosystem by intensive use of chemicals. However shows the need for change in the model of agriculture practiced in recent decades for an alternative agriculture that meets both the goals of increased productivity and environmental quality. Surge thereby agroecology as a new kind of knowledge system based on sustainable production techniques and interaction of resources. This new trend stimulates the development strategy of establishing dynamic transformation toward sustainability and the expectation of a greater environmental balance. Thus the paper presents some characteristics and peculiarities of agroecology seeking to emphasize the understanding of the emergence of this new dimension and the factors that promote the sustainability of the agricultural sector.
