摘要
Smaller battery-powered portable electronic equipment have led to an increase in the demand for thinner batteries. We have developed the world's thinnest sealed lead-acid battery in response to this demand. The structure of this battery has novel features. The positive and negative electrodes and the electrolyte are all in the same plane, with the electrodes being comb-shaped for increased capacity. The collector surface is covered with projections and the electrolyte is applied by screen printing. The proposed thin sealed lead-acid batteries range in thickness from 0.65 to 2.2 mm, and have a capacity of 76-700 mAh and a lifetime of over 300 cycles. This paper describes the structure, fabrication technology and performance of the world's thinnest sealed lead-acid batteries.
