Uses and images of the time in the Spanish compulsory secondary education (ESO) students: between the school, the family and the community

摘要
This article focuses on the analysis of school time and its relationship with the family and community life experiences of Spanish com-pulsory secondary education (ESO) students. The results revealing ideas such as: The con-ditioning nature of school times on teenagers socialising development and opportunities; the interconnection between the types of school time management and family and community life experience; the distorted vi-sion and, even in some cases contradictory, on the uses and images of school and social time amongst students and secondary school teachers; the opening to the social environ-ment of centres offering their facilities to be used for other non-teaching activities; con-firmation of new technologies as important agents of socialisation. A better understanding of the interde-pendence between teenage school time and socialisation processes allows the formula-tion of new questions and broadens the so-cial, political and academic debate about ways of management for private, educatio-nal, and social time.
