Chlamydophila pneumoniae infections and bronchial asthma

In this paper general characteristics of bronchial asthma was presented, especially predisposing, casual, facilitating asthma development and releasing attack of breathlessness factors were described. Considering predisposing factors, asthma was divided for allergic and non-allergic asthma. The next type is occupational asthma caused by exposition to chemicals at work, independent on atopy. Allergic asthma called atopic asthma usually begins in childhood, frequent remissions are observed in its progress, allergic rhinitis and allergic eczema are connection with allergic asthma. Atopy is responsible for allergic asthma. Atopy is genetically conditioned predisposition to immunoglobuline E production. Recently Chlamydophila genus is considered as important pathogenic factor of many chronic disorders in which a bacterial etiology has not been taken into account yet. This correlation concerns Chlamydophila pneumoniae and its possible involvement in bronchial asthma pathogenesis.
