摘要
Theoretical description of the thermomechanical phenomena occurring in rubbing and wearing systems is possible based on thermodynamics. A thermodynamical model of contacting solids is developed. An interfacial layer of wear products is included. Interactions between the bodies and the layer are determined by the phenomenological parameters. The kinematics of the bodies and the interfacial layer are completely described. A time derivative of an integral defined over a material field with a partial non-material boundary is introduced. Balance equations of mass, momentum, moment of momentum, energy and entropy inequalities are given in the global and local formulation. A set of governing equations and a set of dependent variables describing the material properties of the bodies, the layer and the contact are derived from the thermodynamical model.
