摘要：
Families today are a mosaic combining past and present. While emerging new family forms have recently become common, other traditional structures remain strong. Thus, a rigorous scientific approach to study current families must navigate between the Historical Demography and Sociology of the Family. This paper presents the conceptual and methodological implications of this multidisciplinary approach.
