THE ROLE OF INTRINSIC MOTIVATION, LEARNING STYLES AND METACOGNITIVE STRATEGIES IN THE EFFECTIVE SEARCH OF ONLINE INFORMATION

A sample of 50 students was asked to answer three scales: Learning-Styles Questionnaire, by Money Alonso (1997); the Metacognitive Awareness Inventory, by Schraw & Dennison, 1994; and the Motivation scale from the Motivated Strategies Learning, de Pintrich et al,1993. The literature that students recovered from internet was evaluated with the Information Quality Evaluation Checklist, of Lujan (2003). Our main hypothesis is that the motivation, specially the intrinsic orientation, is a strong predictor of the efficient e-searching.. The results conffirm the main hipotesis.
