UNRESOLVED ISSUES IN SCIENTIFIC MISCONDUCT

As discussion of scientific misconduct moves from the private to the public domain, new demands are placed on the research system. This article focuses on those aspects related to universities: development and implementation of procedures for handling allegations, how to handle the role that intuition plays in research, and the entanglement of scientific misconduct allegations with other issues of interpersonal relations.
