The Idea of Civil Society in the Cadiz Constitution of 1812 and the Spanish Constitution of 1978

The term "Civil Society" did not exist in Napoleon-time Spain. But the understanding and first features of it emerged in the first Spanish constitution. In XX century, after the long period of Franco ruling, the idea of civil society gains new value in constitution of 1978. There appear new political and religious freedoms. The article makes the comparative analysis of civil society ideas in Cadista constitution of 1812 and those in Spanish constitution of 1978. This issue has never been researched in domestic historical science.
