摘要
Turbulent Taylor-Goertler vortices were generated by directly introducing a well-settled uniform flow into a two-dimensional curved channel. Results of hot-wire anemometry were compared with a prediction performed in parallel using a modified k-epsilon model. These results were also compared with those of our previous experiments in which turbulent flow that was fully developed in a parallel plate channel was introduced into a curved channel with a statistically two-dimensional flow field. In conclusion, it was found that the unsteady large-scale longitudinal vortices observed in the two-dimensional case had essentially the same structure as the Taylor-Goertler vortices.
