IGG AND IGM ANTITOXOPLASMA GONDII DETECTION - AN ANALYTICAL STUDY OF 3 IMMUNOENZYMATIC TESTS

The three following commercially available immunoenzymatics (EIA) tests (Abbott, Pasteur and bio-Merieux) were compared in 244 blood-serum samples. A 86 to 90 % correlation was demonstrated among the three test measurements of the antitoxoplasmic IgG. False-negatives or lower antibody values were found using the Abbott test. Concerning the IgM, a 72 to 89 % correlation was demonstrated, with doubtfully results with the Abbott and the bio-Merieux tests in 6,5 and 12,8 % of the samples. We conclude that there are discrepancies among these three commercially available tests, despite of the use of a EIA standardized method. So, references of the test must be specified with the results of antitoxoplasmic antibody measurements.
