Intermedial transits: the imaginary of cinema and television in Mantra

In this essay, I propose to analyze the construction of audiovisual imaginary in the novel Mantra (2001), by Argentine writer Rodrigo Fresan, identified as key work of the Latin American literature regarding the relation film-television-literature. From an intermedial perspective, whose core concepts will be introduced in the first part, I will address the forms and transits in which the cinema and television images circulate and articulate themselves in the novel. The analysis aims to identify literature as a particular area of reflection in our audiovisual and transmedial culture.
