INTEGRATION MANAGEMENT-SYSTEM FOR TECHNICAL-INFORMATION

Several million items of technical information pertaining to the central office switches that are providing extensive global business services with long-life system products are being managed by an integration management system through the use of a large-scale database Ateam (Advanced TEchnical informAtion Management system ). The Ateam is capable of performing integration management for technical information with various kinds of media formats related to a variety of information ranging from the development of central office switches through administrative services, and can be accessed from on line CAD workstations and/or OA terminals by real time. The Ateam provides environments essential to the concurrent engineering oriented to the simultaneous realization not only of a shortening in lead time and reduction in cost but also of quality improvement. Further, the Ateam is capable of providing customers and associated business corporations with required technical information through the CALS (Continuous Acquisition and Life-cycle Support [1,2]) interface standards. This paper describes the aim and implementation method for the integration management system together with the actual technical information management procedures.
