摘要：
Latin America and the Caribbean have had a clear unbalanced presence in the UNESCO's World Heritage List. Of the 31 countries that have ratified the World Heritage Convention, only 9 maintain permanent interest in the rescue, conservation, safeguarding and dissemination of their sites of outstanding universal value, while 16 others have had a minimal presence in the global context and 7 have never submitted any nomination dossier. The Region currently has 124 inscribed properties: 86 cultural, 35 natural and 3 mixed, being 2 of them transboundary properties (14% of world total).
