摘要
Measuring healthcare quality and improving patient satisfaction has become increasingly prevalent, especially in emergency medicine. Patient satisfaction has been included as an aspect of quality healthcare. The purpose of this article is to provide an overview of patient satisfaction initiatives and quality improvement efforts in healthcare for a single university-based emergency department. Abrief review of the reports from the Institute of Medicine and a literature review preclude a report on the attempts of one academic emergency center to improve patient satisfaction and quality of care.
