Biological weapons are prohibited since the Convention of 1972 which was signed by a lot of countries. It is the first example of convention forbiding a class of war. However the progress of biotechnologies and genetic are increasing the probability of new hazards from agents of biological orgin. Biological technologies as gene therapy are possibly opening new debats on new hazards for the future. Probably the next revision conference on 1972 Biological Weapons Convention will be take in tho the account these evolutions.
