摘要
Moessbauer spectroscopy has been used as a quantiative analytical method for determining variations in the retained austenite concentration in Fe-Mn-C dual-phase steels after mechanical deformation and thermal treatment. Is it shown that retained austenite is transformed to martensite during the deformation, its concentration being reduced from 7 wt. % to less than 1 wt. % for a deformation of 20%. This transformation is also observed, but to a lesser extent, after the samples had been cooled in liquid nitrogen.
