COMPUTER-ANALYSIS OF 3-D MEDICAL IMAGES

The development of tools for the rapid 3-D-Visualization of computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance (MR) images has accelerated rapidly. Image processing is a case in point. Here, established computer vision methods from the 2-D domain have been carried over to the 3-D domain. However, automated scene interpretation in this domain is still in its infancy and requires an integrated approach to generate explicit rules for correct analysis.
