Amperometric thick-film biosensors for the simultaneous detection of glucose and alcohol are described. They are either based on oxidases immobilized on electrodes made by conventional thick-film techniques or on dehydrogenases using flexible substrate materials. The sensors are characterized by their detection limits and linear ranges, and the influence of ethanol on the glucose sensors and vice versa is demonstrated.
