摘要
Treatment of malignant tumors belongs to the domain of scientifically oriented medicine consisting of operative procedures, chemotherapy, and high-energy rays besides palliative aftercare including sufficient pain treatment. Comprehensive medical care of these patients is decisive after the intervention. This procedure is accepted by most of the "therapists" not directly involved in scientific medicine. However, these therapists see chances for additional ("alternative") treatment with methods that support the rational therapy but whose effects cannot be proved or employ questionable drugs. A large number of patients prefer these kinds of alternative treatment options because they believe these remedies to be free of side effects and expect additional help for inhibiting tumor growth. Thus, besides the rational concept of tumor therapy, we need methods that support emotional processes and strengthen the principle of "hope".
