In this paper, we define the weighted Sobolev space and the generalized solution of the Dirichlet problem for the one-dimensional equation. We prove the existence and uniqueness of the generalized solution and investigate the spectrum of the corresponding operator. © 2013 Springer Science+Business Media New York.
