Diagnosis and early mobilization of the cervical spine after whiplash injuries [Diagnostik und fruhmobilisation der HWS-beschleunigungsverletzung]

Important parts of the diagnosis and therapy of whiplash-associated injuries of the cervical spine belong to chiropractic and manual medicine. The treatment is carried out on an outpatient basis in consultation with physicians. Different symptoms allow injuries of the spine next to the cranial border to be distinguished from the spine next to the thoracic border. In most cases, the injuries result from violent horizontal distractions of the cervical junctions, following low-speed car accidents. Early mobilization and rehabilitation show better results than long-term fixation by cervical ortheses.
