Solution of the coupled thermoelasticity problem of propagation of nonstationary waves in a half-space

We have investigated the influence of the coupling of the strain field and temperature field caused by a thermal shock or force load at a finite heat propagation velocity on dynamic temperature stresses in a half-space under generalized heat exchange from its surface. The solution of the generalized coupled dynamic problem of thermoelasticity has been obtained on the basis of the theory of invariant-group properties of differential equations. Results of numerical computations for a specific example are presented. © 2013 Springer Science+Business Media New York.
