Space based multispectral remote sensing has gained considerable importance in providing information on earth resources in various disciplines. The LIS S -I and LIS S I I cameras of the Indian Remote Sensing Satellites IR S 1A/1 B have provided enormous data for remote sensing applications. From the point of view of data analysis and interpretation, the two important performance characteristics of multispectral cameras (sensors) are MT F and band to band registration. Band to band registration means that all the detectors corresponding to different spectral bands of a camera view the same area of the earth at a given instant of time.
