The Zinc-Rich Corner of the Zn-Al-Co-Fe Quaternary System at 450 °C

摘要
The 450 °C isothermal section of the Zn-Al-Co-Fe system with fixed Zn content of 93 at.% has been determined using scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive spectrometry, and x-ray diffraction analysis. The results show that there are six four-phase equilibrium regions in this isothermal section. The solubility of cobalt in ζ-phase (FeZn13) is 3.6 at.%. The maximum solubility of zinc in Fe2Al5, FeAl3, Co2Al5, and Co4Al13 is 14.6, 13.4, 16.0, and 9.7 at.%, respectively. The CoAl phase can be in equilibrium with L, ζ, δ, Τ, Fe2Al5, FeAl3, and Co2Al5, respectively.
