摘要
An adult female gyr-saker hybrid falcon (Falco rusticolus x Falco cherrug) was brought to our falcon medical and research hospital for evaluation of a rapidly growing mass. Physical and radiographic examination revealed a large, oval-shaped, soft tissue mass on the left prodorsal region. Hematological findings showed moderate leukocytosis and heterophilia while the results of blood biochemical analyses were within normal ranges apart from a moderate elevation of creatine phosphokinase (CPK) activity. A cursory cytological evaluation of fine-needle aspirate of the mass revealed numerous RBCs while neither inflammatory nor neoplastic cells were discernible. Test for acid-fast bacilli in the aspirate was negative. Surgical excision of the mass was performed while the bird was under isoflurane anesthesia. Histopathological examination of biopsy samples of the mass obtained during surgical procedure was consistent with a moderately undifferentiated liposarcoma. © 2017, Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature.
