Cindy Nobens onderzoek bekijkt verzuimaanpak vanuit economisch oogpunt. Op dit proefschrift kunnen werkgevers zich baseren bij hun beslissing om al dan niet te investeren in verzuiminterventies. Het promotieonderzoek is één van de weinige dat niet enkel verzuim beziet maar ook presenteïsme: het aanwezig zijn op de werkvloer maar met verminderde productiviteit.
